Green
Within the last decade, the "green building" philosophy has become widely touted in North America and has rapidly taken root as more and more homebuilders and buyers embrace the concept. Green is no longer just an idea. Green homes rely upon established and proven design features and technologies that do not have a significantly large cost to implement into a facade. In many cases, the reduction in operating costs will more than offset the additional up-front costs of a green home. Many green measures will reduce long term costs, particularly those features that involve energy and water efficiency. Aura at Camelback stresses that it isn’t enough to simply build a home that’s green; but the commitment challenges us to live green on a daily basis

Energy Efficient
Energy efficiency will be an abiding hallmark of Aura at Camelback’s design and it will deliver in several ways. In addition to its solar powered electricity systems, Aura at Camelback homes will qualify as “Zero Energy Homes,” a designation that is handed out by the U.S. Department of Energy. Aura at Camelback’s design will also incorporate water-saving features and numerous other eco-centered design methods.

Environmentally Friendly
One exciting, environmentally conscious outcome of Aura at Camelback will be to leverage solar technology in ways that the Valley has never before experienced. Aura at Camelback is on track to be the benchmark and set the stage for solar residential power projects in Arizona. Aura at Camelback is so unique because every single home in the Community will have immense solar capacity, saving up to 75 percent on electricity costs. Residents will have all the power they need and it will be power from the sun.

Measured Results
Aura at Camelback homes will also be LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified. In fact, the Community is set to be the largest LEED Silver for Homes-certified project in Arizona. LEED is a nationally accepted benchmark for the design of high-performance, environmentally friendly real estate projects. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, the residential sector accounts for 22% of the total energy consumed in the U.S. and 74 % of the water. LEED certified projects:
  • Lower operating costs and increase asset value
  • Reduce waste sent to landfills
  • Conserve energy and water
  • Reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions
